I was at the United NorthWest Model Railroad Show this weekend, organized by the United NorthWest Model Railroad club. It was a pretty nice show with several N scale layouts. Here are some pictures.
First off, here are some pictures of the fine N-trak layout by the Mount Rainier N Scale club. What I love about this layout is even though it is a modular layout with each module built by different people, there is great continuity between nodules. They blend in so nicely together that the whole thing looks like a single layout.
Here’s a very interesting wye and loop from the layout.
Trestles and bridges!
They have a great looking intermodal yard.
Here’s another really unique feature. An old turntable and roundhouse converted into a shopping area/tourist attraction. What a great idea!
I wish I wrote down the names of the presenters. There was this guy who was showcasing incredibly details scenes.
A nice diorama.
Here are some pictures from the United NorthWest Model RR Club’s layout. I love this yard that curves at either end and the various industrial spurs along the yard.
One end of the yard had a huge roundhouse for steam engine service, and the other end had nice looking diesel facilities.
More pictures from the layout.
The scenic area. This looked really really beautiful.
Here’s a great looking 3’x7’ N scale layout. A lot of track is packed into this table, but the scenery is so masterfully done that it doesn’t overwhelm you. The layout is done using Kato Unitrak, with Peco code 80 track in two of the spurs.
Here are some more pictures from other layouts:
